My interest in textiles comes from ‘the process’ of making art cloth. I often use the computer to explore an initial design idea, but this is only the starting platform. I have found that the best results often come when I don’t plan the end result too carefully, but allow the piece to evolve naturally. Paper lamination has proved to be a great medium for me. I can get results quickly and love it’s flexibility. There is always a solution to take care of unwanted surprises without impacting on the whole piece. I am excited by its possibilities and the undiscovered potential that this method has to offer, especially in combination with print and stitch.
